What is holistic healing?

Holistic healing is an approach to wellness that considers the mind, body,s pirit and emotions as interconnected aspects of health . Instead of focusing only on symptoms, it seeks to address the root causes of imbalance and promote overall well-being through natural and integrative therapies.

Key principles of holistic healing:

  • Wholeness- Health is more than just the absence of disease; it’s about balance and harmony in all areas of life
  • Self Healing- The body as an innate ability to heal when given the right conditions.
  • Mind- Body Connection- Thoughts, emotions and beliefs directly impact physical health
  • Prevention and Lifestyle- Long term wellness comes from mindful living, not just treating illness.
  • Natural and Integrative Therapies- Healing includes physical, emotional, and spiritual approaches.

Common holistic approaches include Ayurveda, Chinese Medicine, Marma Point Therapy, Acupuncture, herbal medicine, nutrition, meditation, massage, breathwork, yoga.

Who can benefit?

Holistic healing is beneficial for anyone looking to improve their physical health, emotional well-being and spiritual growth. It is often used for stress management, chronic pain, digestive issues, emotional trauma and overall vitality.

What is Ayurveda?

Ayurveda is an ancient holistic healing system that originated in India over 5,000 years ago. It is based on the idea of balancing the body’s energies- Vata (air and space), Pitta( fire and water), and Kapha ( earth and water)- to promote overall health and well-being.

Ayurveda emphasizes prevention and natural healing through personalized diet, herbal remedies, yoga, meditation, detoxification, and lifestyle adjustments. It views each person as unique and tailors treatments to their specific constitution (dosha).

Ayurveda approaches holistic health through:

  • Food as medicine
  • Herbal treatments- Aromatherapy and other oils
  • Daily routines
  • Mind body connection-emotional well being is just as important as physical.

What are some Ayurvedic treatments?

Marma Point Therapy- Marmani are energy points along the front and back of the body. When gently pressed they increase energy flow to all the organs and systems in the body restoring, rejuvenating, and enhancing energy flow. Marma therapy opens the doorway to the “inner pharmacy” and allows the body to release natural healing chemicals such as melatonin, serotonin, and oxytocin- the feel-good hormones. Marma therapy promotes balance and harmony and has lasting effects.

Gemstones, color, and sound therapy are part of Marma energy therapy. Gemstones can be used to heal various chakras.

What is Marma therapy?

Marma is to Ayurveda what acupuncture is to Chinese medicine.

Marma or Marmani points, increase the energy flow in the body; awakening the body’s inner healing potential. Marma therapy reduces pain, anxiety, depression, grief, loss, and hormonal imbalance, and is anti-aging. Marma therapy promotes a feeling of lightness of body, mind, and spirit fostering inner peace, clarity, and vitality. It is the oldest mind/body therapy and is only taught from teacher to student. Marma is a sacred healing art.

It is a touch therapy much like acupressure. A person remains fully clothed during a marma session.

I only work with women and young adults.

Can I receive Marma if I have a period?

Marma can be received after the third day of the menstrual cycle.

How long will it take to get results?

Marma therapy will offer immediate results for stress, anxiety, grief, loss, hormonal imbalance, emotional healing, and increased self-awareness. The more you implement my recommendations, the better the results.

What is energy healing?

Energy healing works with the subtle energies of the body increasing energy flow to integrate the mental, physical, and spiritual well-being of a person. The human body is a complete energy system tuned to daily life, stresses, relationships, environment, toxins, emotions, traumas, diet, and positive as well as negative input. Just like an instrument, our physiology goes in and out of balance. Any imbalance in the body obstructs the flow of energy, which results in illness. Energetic healing works to ensure that the energy flow within the body moves freely and unobstructed.

The inner intelligence of the body heals. A healer only facilitates this process. That process lies deeper than any model or explanation. Forcing the physiology to conform to a model is not true healing.

What are chakras?

Chakras are circular vortexes of energy that are like wheels of energy along seven different points on the spinal column. They have mental/emotional correlates. Chakras can be seen and felt by healers. All seven chakras are connected to the various organs and glands within the body. Marma sessions both clear and enliven the chakras for optimal health.
