The Vital Heart Chakra

View report

Dear friends,

The ancient Ayurvedic texts describe energy centers as ” chakras”. The most vital one is the “heart ” chakra, the fourth one. “It is considered the fundamental center for your growth as a human being,” says Dr. Christine Horner, M.D, in her book ” Waking the Warrior Goddess”- Protect Against and Fight Breast Cancer.”
The fourth chakra concerns how you express or suppress your emotions.
It is vital because the heart chakra harmonizes body and spirit, grounding spiritual growth in emotional clarity.

Blockages can lead to isolation, jealousy, resentment, grief, and frustration, which become the emotional imbalances of dis-ease.
Open-hearted living is essential for mental and emotional balance.
A balanced heart chakra cultivates kindness, generosity, forgiveness, compassion, and peace.

It starts with you. In my years of experience, grief and depression piled on like layers of unwanted weight until I discovered yoga and meditation in 1990. It was then that I started to paint, and with bright colors that alleviated the burden and grief I had been carrying. The outpouring of energy, along with my discovery of my healing gifts, led me on a path of healing and opening my heart. And it continues.

I urge you to take the time to reflect on your heart chakra, perhaps starting by visualizing the color pink or green in your meditation, and to send loving energy to this vital space. When it comes to relationships that are challenging, I have found that the power of prayer, or sending loving energy from your heart to that person, can be very effective in bringing about healing and closure.

Don’t hesitate. Take a look at your life and make sure you are taking care of your own needs first before the negative emotions become the physical manifestation.

With fierce love,

Gedalia
