Ayurveda Tips and Reminders- What direction should my bed face?

Dear friends,

InstagramPhotoPicker_20225419_108690489795488_3379447613303554048_nWe spend 1/3 of our lives sleeping. Adequate sleep is a key part of a healthy lifestyle and can benefit your heart, weight, mind, and more.

Around 1 in 3 people have at least mild insomnia. Many poor sleepers have developed poor sleep habits. In the long run, taking sleeping pills isn’t effective.

Chronic sleep deprivation and disruption of the sleep cycle cause an activation of the inflammatory response. Lack of sleep decreases the activity of T-cells (a crucial type of immune cell) and weakens our immune response to vaccines.  Aim for seven to eight hours of sleep on a regular basis.

What can you do?

According to “Vastu”- “science of architecture ( India’s feng shui)- and a science of optimal energy flow in the home, there are good and not good directions for your bed to face.

Head toward the north is the worst sleeping position- it increases sickness and sleep deprivation as the pull of the north pole drains energy from the body.

Head towards the South is a good sleeping position- it increases wealth, happiness, and prosperity. Head toward the West is also good– it gives name, fame, and prosperity.

Most phones have a compass- they are easy to use.

I had been having some sleep issues recently and as soon as I switched the direction of my bed I sleep through the night and wake up refreshed.

Why not give it a try- can’t hurt as my grandmother says.
