February and Heart Health

Dear friends,

February is not just about roses and romance—it’s also American Heart Month, a time to prioritize heart health and take proactive steps to keep it in top shape.

Here are some tips to embrace heart health this February and beyond:

1. Incorporate a variety of fruits, vegetables, whole grains and lean proteins into your meals. Already know this? Take stock by using an app called ” chronometer” to see exactly what you’ve consumed each day and tailor it as needed. Choose heart healthy fats such as avocado, olive oil, nuts, and seeds. Avoid processed foods ( anything in a box or wrapper).

2. Focus on REGULAR physical activity- daily and include resistance training in your workouts.

3. Open the heart chakra by being kind and generous. Perhaps it’s helping a new mother and her baby on a checkout line, making a meal for someone, or calling a neighbor to see how they are- giving a homeless person some change or assistance.

4. Show your heart some love by rubbing “rose oil” on your chest. Mix it with a carrier oil such as sesame, jojoba, or coconut oil. Rose oil is calming and soothing, reducing stress and anxiety. A reliable resource for oils is Nature’s Gifts( Tennesee),

5. Spend time with loved ones and seek social support. Studies show that positive relationships contribute to better heart health.

6. Engage in creative play, whether its dancing, arranging flowers, painting on your iPad, or even coloring. Bringing joy and laughter to your heart enhances its energy.

7. Take a few moments to notice your breath and feel your heart beating. Be grateful. It’s a sure way to become present at any given time.

My motto- consistent small changes can make a significant impact on your heart and overall health.

Embrace holistic practices and show your heart some love every day!

with fierce love,
Gedalia
