Winter Essential Oils

Dear friends,

Winter can feel like a time of sluggishness. The qualities of the earth contribute to that.
Aromatherapy- the art of using essential oils for health benefits is just the antidote to emotional /mental heaviness and dullness as well as to combat winter coughs and colds.

Here are a few recommendations for winter essential oils:

1. Cough and Cold Diffuser blend:
2 drops of eucalyptus
3 drops of peppermint – spearmint or wintergreen

2. For mental stimulation:
4 drops of lemon or peppermint in the diffuser

3. For sleep:
2 drops of ylang-ylang
2 drops of lavender

4. For a warm and cozy blend
2 drops vanilla
2 drops ginger
2 drops cinnamon
2 drops eucalyptus

If you don’t have a diffuser you may add a few drops of any oil to a massage oil such as sesame and rub it on your whole body (except for cinnamon and lemon)
Oils can also be used to wipe countertops and desk surfaces.

Knowing and doing is different as my Ayurvedic teacher used to say.
