Stress as the Root Cause
Dear friends,
Something I’ve witnessed over the past 15 years is that stress is the root cause of the challenges women face with their health. Today the word is “trauma”.
It’s the reason I began to practice Marma therapy. When I was practicing Naturopathic approaches with women leaving out the energy therapy I found that my clients would not heal. This equates to a doctor finally realizing that bandaid medications are not addressing the root cause. The root cause is stress.
Prolonged stress can affect the body’s immune, cardiovascular, and digestive systems. For example, prolonged stress can increase inflammation, exacerbate heart conditions, and increase gastrointestinal issues. Stress can cause thyroid conditions, depression, inability to sleep, constipation, and diabetes.
When the body or mind is in fight or flight mode, there’s adrenal burnout, fatigue, and even exhaustion.
The first step to managing stress is “self-awareness”. Then comes “acceptance”- breathe. Then comes “compassion”.
This is the most loving act you can do for yourself.
How can I love myself today? An excellent question at the start of each day.
with fierce love,
Gedalia
