Healing Colors

BUCKHEAD – February 1, 2016 – Gedalia Genin, with a Ph.D. in traditional naturopathy, and as a practicing Ayurvedic health specialist, she believes in using many different old and new natural modalities to transform and heal the physical illnesses and emotional wounds of her patients.  As a Buckhead-based pastel and acrylic painting artist over the last 15 years, she finds that working with color can also be self-healing.

Today, Genin is celebrating the opening of her first art show, Colorful Expressions, at the Artists Atelier Gallery and Studios in Buckhead, and is grateful for all that her work has brought to her personally. “I was naturally drawn to drawing and painting as a way to heal emotional wounds and their physical manifestations,” said Genin. “I was initially inspired by the work of Wolf Kahn and took a class with him in New York. Today, my hope is to inspire others to use creativity as a way to reconnect with their inner selves and to improve their overall spiritual, mental and physical health.”

Colorful Expressions offers visitors a chance to see a collection of Genin’s pastel and acrylic works of art which are intensely colored  floralsand landscapes. She is known for her use of fully saturated jewel tones and brightly colored landscapes. “I love experimenting with different color combinations and mediums to experience the different emotions and feelings I experience while working,” says Genin.

The show opened January 1, 2016 and will close February 28, 2016. The Artists Atelier Gallery and Studios is a working artist’s studio for 17 artists currently. Located at 800 Miami Circle, Suite 200, it is Buckhead’s oldest and largest working artists’ studio with an attached gallery. The gallery is open to the public Tuesdays through Saturdays, 11am to 4pm.

There will be a closing reception for the show on February 20, 2016 from 12 to 4pm.  The show is in coordination with the monthly Arts Stroll event at Miami Circle each third Saturday of the month, when showrooms and retailers open their doors to the public.

When not painting or drawing, Genin practices her healing arts as part of an integrative, holistic physician practice in Brookhaven. Genin lives in Brookhaven with her husband, David and they have two grown sons. To see more of Genin’s work, visit artistsatelier.com.
