Ayurvedic Tips and Reminders

Dear friends,

I have heard many of my clients say that it is hard for them to describe what I do. So to make it easy, I encourage you to communicate that I specialize in grief and loss, anxiety and depression, which my “niche” has evolved to be.

New patients can schedule a ” new patient” consult and I will recommend the rest. Thank you for your referrals.

Food For Focus

The “six tastes”, “five senses” and the “four seasons” are the doorways to balance according to Ayurveda.

Let’s begin this exploration with “summer” which is approaching in a few weeks.

Summer is known as “Pitta” season in Ayurveda where signs of heat can manifest as skin rashes, acne, sensitivity to heat, lethargy, and heartburn. These are just a few.

To stay cool, calm and hydrated you can sip on coconut water or water that has cucumber slices in it. Start the day making a pitcher of water with fresh cucumber slices and drink throughout the day. You can even add a few sprigs of cilantro if you like. You may also  drink aloe vera juice , one oz, three times per day to your regimen as it enhances digestion, decreases inflammation and is cooling to the skin and digestive tract. I find this to be a wonderful tonic for any signs of heat including hot flashes and an overall energy booster.

Stay tuned on facebook this week for more tips with essential oils and next week with  more foods to focus on.
