Ayurvedic Tips and Reminders/ Plan to Cleanse?

Dear friends,

One of the most common New Year’s resolutions women make is a weight loss plan. Does this sound familiar? Have you been thinking about it? First , I suggest you read this article from the US News on why diets fail and how to approach a resoultion before embarking on a plan.. http://health.usnews.com/health-news/blogs/eat-run/articles/2015-12-29/why-80-percent-of-new-years-resolutions-fail.

After reading this, you might opt for a cleanse. In planning your approach consider an Ayurvedic cleanse. Ayurveda is always in support of warm, cooked, foods for all body types especially in winter when it’s cold outside. January is a difficult time to simply use fruit juices for cleansing as it’s quality is too expansive- we  warm food to protect us from the cold and provide the insulation we need in our bodies.

Kashi Yoga in Atlanta has a ten day cleanse ( you can do it from afar), I highly recommend. It begins in mid-January. I admit I have not done it myself ( but have done Ayurvedic cleanses for up to three weeks) but I have heard great things about it. I do know they are a sound place for yoga and the teachings of yoga philosophy- great people too.

I offer you this link  for a local Ayurvedic cleanse     http://kashiatlanta.org/workshops/10-day-winter-detox/

Some benefits from an Ayurvedic cleanse are:

  • Renewed energy- eliminating fatigue…
  • Improved digestion- less bloating, gas, reflux…
  • Weight loss…
  • Improved luster of the skin…
  • Increased awareness- cleansing emotionally….
  • Mental clarity…
  • Eliminates food cravings…

Another potential resolution might be to start or increase your yoga practice. The regular practice of yoga can reduce your appetite and curb cravings .The benefits of yoga are enormous. These are just some of them:

  • Improves your flexibility. …
  • Builds muscle strength. …
  • Perfects your posture. …
  • Prevents cartilage and joint breakdown. …
  • Protects your spine. …
  • Betters your bone health. …
  • Increases your blood flow. …
  • Drains your lymphs and boosts immunity

Remember by moving your thoughts away from negativity , judgement and complaining toward gratitude, gratitude, gratitude you not only have a happier attitude but a better immune system. It simply takes awareness to notice what is on your mind.-And consistent practice… ( unless you’d rather whine of course).
