Seven Benefits of the Ayurvedic Herb Brahmi

Ayurveda has been known to address numerable symptoms in our bodies for centuries using the age old art and medicine of herbs ( plants).
One such unique herb, Brahmi, I believe will become more popular ( as ashwaghanda) did over the next decade.
Brahmi has been known to be  a ” brain booster”, used to enhance short term and long term memory. It is currently being used with Alzheimer’s patients as part of an integrative treatment. But it also has many other benefits ( as plants normally do).

here are a few others:
1.Brahmi helps to reduce cortisol levels therefore reducing stress and anxiety. in other words it works with the body’s stress response and associated hormones.
2.The bio-chemical known as bacosides in Brahmi helps in re-building brain tissues by influencing the brain cells.
3.Interestingly, the leaf of the Brahmi herb has a similar shape like that of the cerebellum – part of the brain which helps in controlling concentration and memory.
4.Brahmi is filled with antioxidants which eliminate free radicals and suppress cancer cells.
5.Regular consumption of Brahmi supports the immune system.
6.Brahmi is a great remedy to relive arthritis and other inflammatory conditions such as IBS.
7. Brahmi oil can be applied to the scalp at night before bedtime to aid in soothing sleep since it is a cooling herb by nature.

Brahmi can be taken in capsule form or powder by diluting it in warm water. *Check with your doctor before taking and herbs with medications
