In Deepak Chopras’ recent book ” The Healing Self” cowritten with Dr. Rudolph Tanzi , the pioneering neuroscientist , he states ” Suddenly it’s not about isolated factors like not smoking,losing weight, going to the gym, and worrying about stress. It’s about a continuous style of living where self care matters every day in every way. Not smoking, losing weight, and going to the gym, still have their benefits. But lifelong wellness isn’t the same as lowering your risks of disorder A and B. Only a holistic approach will ultimately work.” This is what body/mind health is, in other words wholeness or whole health. Or what medicine is calling “incremental health”.
What makes this all possible? Increasing your self awareness. What you are not aware of cannot change and what you judge about yourself is counterproductive to healing. So try to begin this process like you would if you were helping a toddler- with gentility and compassion.
The chakras (without the woo woo) is a good place to start.
What are they? How do they get unblocked? Let’s look at the “seven” chakras and how they may get out of balance.
Chakras can become blocked through an emotional upset, such as conflict, loss, or accident. Fear, anxiety and stress are common causes of chakra malfunction. … It is these blocks that disrupt the Harmony in the field and eventually are the cause of disease, as well as, emotional and mental disorders in the physical body.
